Mr. Richard Allen Puryear, age 61 of South Hill, died Wednesday July 15, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Louise B. Puryear, two sons, Rick &Lena Puryear and Austin & Lindsey Puryear; one brother, Roy Edward & Connie Puryear and three grandchildren, Owen & Cole Puryear and "Baby Girl" Puryear. Also surviving is his loving canine companion, Nikki.

Mr. Puryear was a Life Member of Buckhorn Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Farm Bureau. Richard and "Nikki" spent their days on the farm doing what he loved...planting crops and watching them grow. He had a deep love for family...his wife and all "four children," as there were no "in-laws," but the pride and joy of his life were his grandchildren. Richard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11am Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-7:30pm at the funeral home.
