Condolence: Went all through South Hill Elementary and Park View w/Lenny and never met a nicer person. Countless time was spent playing baseball, football, or basketball and just having small town fun. Heart goes out to Frankie, Nicky, and all the family I never got to meet. R.I.P. Lenny

Condolence From: Ken Jacobson
Condolence: It was with great sadness that I learned of Lennie's passing. I worked with him for probably two decades at UNC-CH. It was such a pleasure to deal with him in terms of competence, honesty and just as a friend. Lennie will be greatly missed.

Condolence From: The Saunders Family
Condolence: Hello Frank, Nick and families, I was very saddened to read of the passing of Lenny. Growing up on High St. he was always one of the guys, be it whiffle ball, football or basketball. He was even a teammate on some Little League teams. These are great memories of simpler times. I hadn't seen Lenny in many years but not surprisingly he lived a good life and was loved my many. We wish you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Tom

Condolence From: Klaus Hahn
Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with you, as from many folks in my lab who were helped by Lennie over the years. He was a really special person. To our group at UNC who worked with him for many years he was far far more than just someone who helped with Olympus microscopes. He spread good will like very few people in any aspect of our work, kept us all calm, and taught us quite a few things about how to be a decent person. I still remember my first meeting with him as a new person at UNC, and many occasions after that. I certainly will miss him, and know that a lot of other people at UNC will as well. It seems unfair that he had to leave so soon, but he did a lot of good while he was here. Hope you can find peace soon and move ahead. Love, Klaus

I'll always have fond memories of playing football in his back yard with him, Frankie, Nickie and half of the kids in South Hill. We will keep all of his family in our prayers.

Condolence From: Kevin Millard
Condolence: To Faye, Dawn, Nicky, Chris and everyone that knew and loved Lennie. I am sorry for your loss. It is hard to think of a more friendly, helpful person than Lennie. Everytime I saw him, whether it was as a kid in Hillsborough or as young adult working at one of the offices he visited as an Olympus rep, or as a father trading stories about my kids and his grandkids, he instantly put you at ease, put a smile on your face and you knew you were lucky to have a friend to talk to. I always felt glad to spend time with him, bodysurfing at Carolina Beach, fishing, watching baseball, playing pool. He was one of my Dad's best friends, always there for him, my mom and our family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
