Obituary for Betty Ann Poythress (George)
Betty Ann(George) Poythress, passed away at the age of 80, on May 7, 2023, at her home in LaCrosse VA. She is survieved by her daughters, Jennifer Edens (Charles) and Leslie Pothress-Puryear, her brother, Benny George (Judy), and two sisters, Nadine Clary (Jack), and Faye Matthews (Warren), and three grandchildren, Meri Scarlett Edens, Ayrin Layne Matthews and Kennedy Ross Puryear. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Ross Poythress, her parents Rufus and Gertrude George, and her sister Gladys Wells.
Betty was a member of the Lacrosse United Methodist Church and also the Southside Va. Saddle Club.
Funeral services will be conducted at Farrar Funeral Home on Tuesday May 9, 2023 at 11 am. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to LaCrosse United Methodist Church or the Alzheimers Association.
