Obituary for Donald Joseph Gilliard
Mr. Donald Joseph Gilliard age 76 of Bracey died Monday, November 23, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Gilliard of the home; his children, Joseph Gilliard (Debbie), Patricia Mengel (Shawn) and Christine Reider (Scott). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ashley Gratowski, Lexa Gilliard, Casey Berger, Collin Berger, Chase Mengel, Tori Papp, Lyndsay Papp, Stephanie Papp and Nicholas Reider and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a 1962 graduate of West Catholic HS in Philadelphia. A former owner of the Leather Corner Post hotel in Orefield, Pa he also made custom boombas for 25 years . He loved the game of softball as a player,and umpire, and later as a fan of his daughters and grandchildren.
He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family out on the boat in Lake Gaston, Va.
Mr. Gilliard was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Services will be conducted at a later date. Farrar Funeral Home of South Hill is serving the Gilliard family.
