Mr. Luther Edward “Ruggie” Ellis, age 74 of South Hill, died Friday, December 24, 2021 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Patsy T. Ellis of the home; his sons, Chris Ellis (Rose) and Jason Ellis (Brigette) and his beloved grandchildren, Starr, Cody, Miranda, Logan and Goddaughter, Maria McMillian. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Edward Ellis, Sr. and Amye Lee Ellis, his grandson, Jamison Lee, and his in-laws Willard and Louise Thomas.

Edward was the owner/operator of Ed's Body Shop where his sons learned the trade and followed in their dad’s footprints. He was a member of the VFW, Providence Methodist Church and Arrowhead Gun Club since 1972. He loved the time he spent at Arrowhead, and the friends he made while there. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren at Arrowhead. Edward loved spending time with family and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Tuesday December 28 at Crestview Memorial Park in LaCrosse, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday between 12:30 – 1:30. Due to Covid, the family kindly requests that all individuals wear a mask during visitation.
