Obituary for Frances Norton Cliborne
Mary Frances Norton Cliborne, 88, of Concord, NC, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Accordius Healthcare in Mooresville.
She was born on March 5, 1935 in Trenton, New Jersey, to the late Berry Oscar and Mary Louise Robinson Norton. Ms. Cliborne was a retired labor and delivery nurse at Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, VA after 40 years of service. She was a long time member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in South Hill, VA. Ms. Cliborne was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed NASCAR racing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who fondly referred to her as "Gams".
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Edward "Eddie" Cliborne, Jr. and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Robert "Dale" Cliborne of Martinsburg, WV, Linda Evans and husband, David of Concord, NC; brother, C.L. Tanner and wife, Brenda of Yorktown, VA; grandchildren, April Evans Davala and husband, Chris, Brandon Evans and wife, Lindsay; great grandchildren, Tyler and Aubrey Davala, Savannah, Nolan, Corinne, and Annelise Evans; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to the weather the service will be held at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm Saturday April 1, 2023, instead of graveside at Oakwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625.
