Obituary for George Robert "Bobby" Boswell
George Robert “Bobby” Boswell, 83, passed away at his residence in Roanoke Rapids Saturday, July 31, 2021.
Bobby was born, July 30, 1938, in South Hill, VA, son to the late John I. and Mazie Butterworth Boswell. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Patsy Hundley Boswell, brother, John I. Boswell and sister, Mary Boswell Furr.
Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Boswell Gilmer and husband, Kerry, of Ivy, VA, son, David Boswell and wife, Jennifer, of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Zachary Gilmer and fiancé, Hattie Carter and Luke Gilmer and wife Shania and Cora Homan; sister Elizabeth “Lib” Lackey of South Hill. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a gathering for friends Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Dogwood at 313 Franklin in South Hill. The gathering time will be from 1-3 pm with heavy hors d’oeuvres.
