Mr. James Timothy “Tim” Brooks, age 53 of South Hill, died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at VCU Hospital in Richmond. He is survived by his parents, James and Arlene Brooks of South Hill; his brother, Terry (Jeanie) Brooks of Clayton, NC; nephew, Merritt Brooks of Clayton; Aunt Ruby Cross of Greensboro, NC; cousins Cheryl Cross of Greensboro, Alan Cross (Leigh Ann) and family of Summerfield, NC. He was predeceased by grandparents Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Brooks of South Hill; Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Sheffield of High Point, NC; Uncle Howard Cross of Greensboro.

Those that knew Tim were very blessed, as he was a special young man that greeted everyone with a warm and loving smile. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and loved his church family very much. He had many “buddies” and “girlfriends” at Ephesus.

Tim attended Mecklenburg County schools and received a certificate on completion of his course of study at ParkView High School in 1990. He then attended the day programs at John H. Northington Center in South Hill. There he made many lasting and memorable friendships with faculty and classmates.

Services for James Timothy “Tim” Brooks will be private at a later date. The family requests memorial considerations in his memory be sent to Ephesus Baptist Church, 1642 Smith Cross Roads, South Hill, VA 23970.
