Obituary for Lewis Warren Nichols

Mr. Lewis Warren Nichols, age 79 of South Hill, died Saturday, December 1, 2018. He is survived by his wife, June D. Nichols of the home; four children, Helen Nichols Bugg (Eddie) of Denver, NC, Margaret “Skoot” Reddin (Bill Moon) of Cape Coral, FL, Lewis W. Nichols, Jr. (Diane) of South Hill and William Jeffery Nichols (Angela) of Brodnax, VA; seven grandchildren, Edward (Holly), Alex, and Rebecca Bugg, Jonathan Nichols, Noah Nichols, Thomas Reddin, and Matt Moon and two great-grandchildren, Zane and Nolan Bugg. Also surviving are his siblings, Bernice N. Bagley and Louise N. Ogburn both of South Hill and Marvis Dean Kesling of Bridgeport, WV. Warren was preceded in death by his siblings, Hilda Tunstall, Grace Edmondson, William Curtis Nichols, and Doris Bishop.

Mr. Nichols started his career in law enforcement in South Hill VA and later retired as a sales representative for Frito-Lay Company. He was a member of the South Hill Masonic Lodge and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. Warren was known as a Christian man with a heart of gold that never met a stranger. He was a true southern gentleman that gave all he had to everyone he met and was loved by all. He loved his family deeply and heaven has gained another angel.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2pm, Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, VA. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial considerations in Warren’s memory may be directed to South Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 114 N.
