Obituary for Lillie S. Griffith
Mrs. Lillie Stone Griffith of South Hill, Va. passed away at the age of 98, on Wednesday December 15, 2021. She is survived by her children, Connie Ward French (Rick) Wesley William Ward, Jr. (Pam) ; five grandchildren, Kristin Gallagher, Hope Ferguson (Andy), Weslyn Friley (Rob), Lauren Moreno (Eliseo), Brian Ward (Stephanie) and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Mary Stone, four brothers, two sisters, and her husbands Wesley William Ward and George D Griffith, Jr.
Lillie was a retired bookkeeper for Citizen’s Bank & Trust and attended First Baptist Church of South Hill. She was an avid traveler and cherished Christmas as her favorite time of year. Lillie also enjoyed the many friends she met at PineView Assisted Living and family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love and care she was given.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11am, Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone. Friends and family members may visit the funeral home on Friday, December 17 between the hours of 9-4pm. The family requests memorial considerations in her memory be directed to First Christian School, 410 N Mecklenburg Ave., South Hill, VA 23970 or to the charity of your choice.
