Obituary for Ruth Williams Moss
Ruth Williams Moss went Home to be with the Lord peacefully at the age of 90 on April 29, 2023 at her home in Gasburg , VA. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Moss of Gasburg and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard Hunter Moss III and her brothers, J.Randolph Williams and Dr. Troy H. Williams.
Ruth graduated from Brunswick High School and Smithdeal Massey Business School. Following graduation she worked for Jones Motor Company , then Palmer and Childs, Inc. It is there she met and married the love of her life, Richard Hunter Moss III. They moved to Richmond for many years. They returned to Gasburg and Lake Gaston after Richard’s retirement.
Ruth was a skilled bridge player and enjoyed participating in bridge clubs over the years. She enjoyed cooking and interior decorating. Her home reflects this with its beautiful southern style. Bird watching and identifying was a hobby she picked up later in life that brought her joy.
Funeral Service will be conducted at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in the Family Life Center in Gasburg, VA on Tuesday May 2 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Chase City.
