Shirley Marie Overholtz of Baskerville passed away at home after a brief illness on December 24, 2020. She was born May 03, 1941, in Allegany, Maryland to her loving parents Joseph Francis and Mary Christina Leptic. Shirley was the matriarch of her family, a best friend to her children, a beautiful warrior, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Shirley was an avid gardener and possessed an extraordinary green thumb. She loved watching birds, especially cardinals and blue jays. She always greeted everyone with a smile and loved to laugh, she was most happy when she was surrounded by family.

Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley and her parents.She is survived by her four children and their families: Son, Billy Joe, wife Helen Jean, grandson Joshua Lee Overholtz, grandson Christopher William Weise, granddaughter Dana and husband Jon Choy, and granddaughter Kaylin Weise; Daughter, Nannette Hernandez and husband Felipe Gonzalez, granddaughter Sophia and husband Steve Hornyak, great-grandson Liam Lau and great-granddaughter Esme Hornyak, granddaughter Jessica Gonzalez, grandson Nicholas Garanzuay and grandson Eric and wife Paton Gonzalez; Son, Michael Stanley and wife Rhonda McGinnis Overholtz, grandson Justin and wife Courtney Overholtz; Daughter, Laura and husband Leonardo Andablo Covarrubias, granddaughter Tiana Overholtz, granddaughter Shyla Palmer and granddaughter Santana and husband Antwan Garner and great-grandson Antwan Jr., great-grandson Giovanni, great-granddaughter Harleen, great-grandson Amine, and great-grandson Jahsey Garner.

We, as her family, were blessed beyond measure to know her, love her, and have her in our lives. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, a memorial service will be held at a later time.
