Obituary for William Louis "Pete" Dunn

Mr. William Louis “Pete” Dunn, age 85 of Boydton, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Dunn, and his children, Ronnie Dunn (Becky) and Gail Dunn Rolfe (Elvis), and a grandchild, Kirstin Deaton, and a very special sister in law, Brenda Fay Bailey. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Rolfe.

“Pete” graduated from Bluestone High School where he played basketball and baseball. He worked at USCO in South Hill for 13 years as a traveling service Tech. Pete was known to be an excellent carpenter and he could repair any vehicle. Later he worked as a corrections officer at Baskerville and remained there for 26 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a devoted son to his parents caring for both of them in their later years; he enjoyed playing the guitar, reading, and was an artist that loved to draw. Pete was also known to be an avid outdoorsman, spending many hours fishing and hunting. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and friend.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Southside Baptist Church in South Hill with interment to follow in Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Boydton. The family requests memorial considerations in his memory be directed to Southside Baptist Church Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
