Robert was a friend and a wonderful person, and he could certainly tell a story. We enjoyed meeting Robert when he was renovating my Dad's [Bain Whitten] house on Lake Gaston. He would keep my Dad entertained while Dad "supervised" his job. Dad didn't even take his afternoon naps when Robert was around. Robert would always check up on "Pops" just to make sure he was okay. When Dad passed, Robert was there when we spread his ashes on the Lake. They had a wonderful bond, and I hope they are bonding again right now. My Dad would always say "Until we meet again"...I hope that's what they are doing. Robert will be missed, and all our heartfelt sympathies to his family. RIP my friend. Steve and Virginia
