Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Jones can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for James F. Jones

James F.  Jones
Mr. James F. Jones, age 77, formerly of LaCrosse, VA died on January 24, 2014. James is survived by his wife, Barbara of 51 years, sons James Jones and Chris Jones, grandson Jack Jones, and granddaughters Ann Margaret Jones and Helena Jones. Also surviving are two sisters, Loretta Paxson of Mechanicsville, VA and Phyllis Watson of Baskerville, VA. James was preceded in death by his parents Rufus F. Jones and Pearl C Jones, and one brother Tommie G. Jones. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

James served in the United States Army, graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and worked 34 years with Texaco Incorporated.

James loved going to bible studies, fishing, woodworking and gardening until he was forced to stop due to his illness. He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play basketball and softball on the weekends. James was always there to help family and friends with handyman projects or anything else they needed assistance with.

Funeral services for James will be 11am Saturday, Feb 1st at Olive Branch Baptist Church, 5223 Blackridge Rd., Blackridge, VA with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:15 until time of service.
