Obituary for Retha Cox (Brown)

Retha   Cox (Brown)
Mrs. Retha Brown Cox, age 87, passed away on January 3, 2015 at Meadowview Terrace. She was the widow of the late Edward M. Cox and the daughter of the late Walter Brown and Viola Wingate Brown. Mrs. Cox had worked as an aircraft mechanic during World War II at the Robins Air Force Base.

She is survived by four sons, Phillip Cox (Doris), Gary Allen Cox (Darlene), Paul Cox (Renae), Jeffery Cox (Companion, Sharon Thompson; two daughters, Karen Cox King (Robert King-deceased) and Sandra Cox Lemasters (Kevin).

Also surviving is a brother, Calvin Lawson of Jackson, GA; a sister, Alice Lawson Wade of El Paso, TX; twenty two grandchildren and thirty two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 3 PM in the chapel of Farrar Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial considerations may be made to the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 10077 Old Cox Rd. Chase City, 23924.

A special Thank You to the management and staff of Meadowview Terrace for their loving care given to Mrs. Cox during her stay.
