Obituary for Richard B "Rick" Crafton

Richard B "Rick"  Crafton
Mr. Richard B "Rick" Crafton, age 72 of Crooked Creek Farm, South Hill, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Richmond, VA. He was born March 30, 1942 to Stephen Harold Crafton and Ellen Bayne Crafton. He was predeceased by his parents and two infant siblings, Cecil Crafton and Geraldine Crafton. He is survived by his sons, Charles Hunter Crafton and Mark O'Neal Crafton (Rhonda), two granddaughters, Amber Crafton and Sidney Crafton, all of South Hill, VA; sister, Joyce Crafton Estes, Victoria, VA; brother, Harold McCoy Crafton (Lynda), Radford, VA and on very devoted loving friend, Phyllis Gauldin.

Richard, known as "Rick", "Ricky" graduated from Kenbridge High School in 1962; was employed by South Hill Gulf approximately 30 years and Barker Garage approximately 12 years until a tractor accident in June, 2014. He enjoyed many happy hours at Crooked Creek Farm raising tobacco, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed raising a garden and sharing his surplus with family and friends. With a little Country Rock Music, come Saturday night he could "cut quite a rug" on the dance floor.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Burial will be private at Crooked Creek Farm. Memorial considerations may b directed to Lake Country SPCA, P O Box 14, Clarksville, VA 23927.
