Mrs. Mary Puryear Moody, age 90 of South Hill, died Sunday, November 13, 2016. Mrs. Moody is survived by her sons, William Michael “Mike” Moody (Susan) of South Hill, George B. Moody (Gwen); son-in-law, P. L. Baisey, and five grandchildren, Paige Baisey Lasky, Paula Baisey-Snow, John Michael Howell, Bryan Moody and Beth Moody Hadden; eight great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Frank & JoAnne Bowers and caregiver, Jenny. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wesley Moody, daughter, Captain Gloria M. Baisey, and three brothers Lawrence, Everett, and James Puryear.

Mrs. Moody worked as a telephone operator and later as a homemaker and mom for her husband and three children. She was a member of First Baptist Church in South Hill and the Eastern Star.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11am Wednesday, November 16 at Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, VA.
