Obituary for Ida Ashworth Callahan

Mrs. Ida Ashworth Callahan, age 94 of Chase City, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She is survived by her son Daniel “Rusty” Callahan of Chase City, grandchildren, Jonathan Jones (Maggie), Adam & Amy Callahan, and Michael & Christopher Baisey. Also surviving is a son-in law, Thomas O. Jones of Richmond and two brothers, Uriel Ashworth and Lewis Ashworth. Mrs. Callahan was preceded in death by her husband, David Anderson Callahan a daughter, Millie Callahan Jones, brothers, Johnny Ashworth and N. W. Ashworth and sister, Ardelle Turner.

Mrs. Callahan was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.

A celebration of her life will be conducted by Rev. A. C. Wells at 11am Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be placed at www.farrarfuneralhome.net.
