Mrs. Christine E. Estes, age 93 of South Hill, died Sunday, January 22, 2016 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cabell E. Estes,and a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Courtney Goodyn.. She is survived by her seven daughters, Betty E. Ballard (Joe) and Shirley E. Watts (Allen) both of Chesterfield, Sarah E. Calhoun (Chuck), Marilyn E. Wright (Charles), Sandra E Nemeth (Kenny) all of South Hill, Linda E. Shelton of Bracey and Velva E. Kindley (Larry) of Buffalo Junction; one sister-in-law, Annlaide Wilkinson of South Hill; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Mrs. Estes was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and she was the proprietor of the South Hill Inn for over thirty years.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 by Dr. Wayne Guynn at Farrar Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-7:30pm at the funeral home.
