Who was my Dad?

He was a good teacher, who helped me study spelling words as a child. He was a hard worker, and he expected that strong work ethic from me. He was a listener. I could share a laugh with him about something ridiculous that happened in my life. He was always the better story teller, though, and he knew how to talk about something in such a way to make me laugh more. He was a character. That's for sure. I'll miss the way he howled like a dog just to get the family dog to howl with him. Christmas won't be the same without Dad sticking a bow on top of his bald head while opening presents, either. He had a big heart and loved to be the hero, offering his help wherever it was needed. The fact that he was on his way to help me haul donations to Goodwill on his last day with us breaks my heart. He was loved dearly by his wife and children, and we will miss him so very much. -Amanda
