Mr. Walter Beales Cleaton, age 85 of South Hill died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan F. Cleaton and his son, Walter B. Cleaton, Jr. and two brothers, John T. Cleaton. Jr. and William T.; "Billy" Cleaton. Walter is survived by his nieces and nephews, Kim Baty (David), Sarah Thompson (Jackie), Mary Carol Kallam (Timmy), Johnny Cleaton (Vicky), Walter Cleaton (Lynn); Beth Farrar, 12 great nieces and nephews and 6 great-great nieces and nephews.Also survivng are two sister-in-laws, Judy Cleaton and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cleaton and his faithful companion, "Boo Boo."

Walter was retired from Signet Bank, a member of Ephesus Baptist Church, a veteran having served in the U S Army ,a member of American Legion Post 79 and a former member of the VA State Fox Hunting Association. Walter spent numerous years judging field trials throughout the southeast. His other love was watching his nephews play baseball, hunting and fishing.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11am Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Farrar Funeral Home with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
