Obituary for Ronald Lee Marten

Mr. Ronald Lee Marten, age 72 of Palmer Springs, died Saturday, June 4, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Linda P. Marten of the home; two daughters, Renee Lynn Marten of Chesterfield and Kyra Humphreys of Nokesville, VA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Amanda Leigh Humphreys and Jacob Allen “Jake” Marten.

Mr. Marten was a Navy Veteran, a retired law enforcement investigator and a member of the Palmer Springs Hunt Club. “Ron” loved his family and enjoyed living on beautiful Kerr Lake where he spent many hours hunting, fishing and just riding through the countryside.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11am, Monday, June 6, 2016 by Rev. Ken Thrasher at Farrar Funeral Home with interment to follow in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, Palmer Springs, VA with full military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed to Palmer Springs Fire Department, 1697 Palmer Springs Rd., Boydton, VA 23917. Farrar Funeral Home of South Hill is serving the family.
